macOS options when the trading week restarts
The trading week here does not line up with the local one: it begins in the small hours of Monday and ends only after Friday has run into Saturday, while the weekend at home falls on Friday and Saturday. That leaves an uneven pattern of desk time, and the two macOS routes suit different parts of it.
The desktop terminal repays a personal machine used through the European and American hours: the workspace persists between sessions, several charts stay open together, and the software keeps running with the browser closed. Installing it takes an administrator password, which is exactly why it does not suit every Mac.
The browser platform asks for none of that. It starts in Safari or Chrome, uses no storage and closes without a trace, so a Mac belonging to an employer or shared at home can still show a live chart. Both open the same account, so a trader can move between them freely.
